Research is the key to finding new ways to prevent, treat and cure leukaemia, and has always been a primary objective of Leuka. Thanks to studies over the past thirty years, a great deal is now understood about the origin and biological character of leukaemia in adults. Scientists are using this new-found knowledge to design drugs and transplant procedures to target malignant cells. Early results suggest that these new treatments are highly effective, and offer leukaemia patients around the world genuine hope of a better future.
